A confidence interval (CI) in hypothesis testing provides a range of values within which the true population parameter is likely to fall, with a given level of confidence (e.g., 95%). If the null hypothesis value (e.g., a mean or difference) lies outside the CI, it indicates that the null hypothesis can be rejected. Conversely, if the null hypothesis value is within the CI, there is insufficient evidence to reject it.
